"Create" Banner For Kim
My FCSS swap partner Kim, who I was paired with for the August swap, requested a banner with the word create on it so this is what I made for her. The background was cut using my cricut and is three layers thick, with thin chipboard between two layers of cardstock. All of the cardstock used on the front of this banner is from The French Country collection by DCWV. The flowers are also cut using my cricut - rolled flowers from the CTMH Art Philosophy cart. I've used flat back pearls, tiny flower centers I bought on the Edith's Scrapbooking With ME. I've used doilies painted with pink lemonade, village green and antique white. The butterflies are from K & Co. I found it necessary to remove the pop dots from those layered butterflies and glue together with Glossy Accents. You can see the corrigated cardboard which I peeled, gesso'd and painted with those same acrylic paint colours. When I peeled the corrigated cardboard it became quite flexy so I backed it with some sturdy cardstock for stability. There are also flat back pearls triming the top edge and for the butterfly bodies. I've put eyelets in the segments to accomodate the ribbon which ties the whole thing together. I really enjoyed this process.
