Rainy Day Visitor
This little hummingbird often rests beneath our honeysuckle, where I've cut away some branches, on a rainy day. The ever so tiny darling fluffs and primps it's dampened feathers often darting out from it's resting place to sip nectar from the honeysuckle blossoms, then darts back until sufficiently nourished, rested and dry. Then as quick as a wink it's gone! I managed to snap this pic during one of it's rest stops. Once while I was watching through my camera lens it darted up, hovered right before my snoot checking out the camera and darted directly back to sip more nectar. I believe it recognizes I am no threat. On another occasion I was within two feet and the little fellow was busily sipping from one of the bell shaped flowers, when suddenly it turned 180 degrees, hovering while it sized me up and abruptly turned 180 back to the flower and continued hovering and sipping. Is there any doubt it has become accustomed to my curiosity?
