Tea bag roses!

How incredibly sweet are these little roses! I made them from the used tea bags of my favourite tea. It's Numi Ruby Chai Organic Spiced Rooibos. The warm spicy combination of fragrant ginger, cardomom, allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves stands up well to milk. It's fair trade certified and I'm reusing the fabulously tea stained bags and recycling the box. No waste. Even the used tea has a use. I save it and put it in my garden. Roses love tea. How chic is that? All this takes time, but how better to spend mine than working with the most fragrant tea on the planet.

These little roses are so simple to make but first you must drink some tea. Once the bag has cooled enough to handle you can remove the little staple, open the bag carefully along the seam and release the tea into a vessel. Rinse the used bag of all remnants of tea and set on a counter or paper towel to dry. Once dry I cut them in half lengthwise, fold and begin rolling and gluing as I go with Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive. The resulting wee treasures are simply delightful. Enjoy!
